The musical Little Shop of Horrors by Howard Asman and Alan Menken has been a triumph around the world since it premiered on Broadway in 1982, as it has everything that adorns the best musicals; crunchy story, charming characters and great music.

The story of the flower seller Baldri and the terrible plant has long become a classic in the minds of viewers and appeals to all generations. This is a heartwarming, exciting and funny story with music that leaves no one untouched.

In 1960 and 1986, films based on the musical were released, both of which received high praise from critics.

The musical was first performed in Iceland by Hina Leichús in 1985 in Gamla Bíó, but the next premieres were in Borgarleichús in 1999 and at Leikfélag Akureyr in 2006 under the direction of Magnús Geir Þórðarson.
